Kanani Akina

American Girl Doll Kanani Akina (pronounced KAH-NAH-NEE AH-KEE-NAH) by American Girl was released as their girl of the year doll in 2011 and was produced for a one year period until it was retired in 2012.

Kanani is a ten-year-old girl living on the geologically oldest island of Hawai'i, Kaua'i island. Kanani helps her family run a popular shave ice shop and is passionate about helping people and wildlife, such as the Hawaiian monk seal.

Kanani's father is Japanese and Hawai'ian, and her mother is French and German.

Kanani uses the Jess Face Mold, has medium skin, long wavy brown hair and hazel eyes. Her meet outfit is a long blue print dress, long kuku'i nut necklace, hibiscus flower hair clip, sandals, and underwear.
