princess tara / catwoman

Wresting Names: Princess Tara /Catwoman Real name: Pauline Steinmann Height:181 cm Weight: 68 kg Career Span: 1978 -1995 STATES WRESTLED IN AUSTRALIA: NSW, VIC  OPPONENTS: Sherrie Sinatra, Sheila Fox, Colleen Love  Real  name: Pauline Steinmann FAVOURITE MOVE: Stomping Headlock to get the audience cheering.

BIOGRAPHY
Princess Tara and her alter ego Catwoman were from Melbourne, Victoria although as Princess Tara she was often billed as coming from New Zealand. Often billed as being from New Zealand the Australian Tara became Sherrie Sinatra's main foe for a number of years. As Princess Tara the Princess that was going to whisk all the children off to her magical castle Tara came out to the ring with a large sweeping cape and tiara upon her head to the cheers of the audience. As Catwoman Tara was in disguise as a masked wrestler and worked as a heel.  Tara would often work twice on a show once under each guise. The Catwoman gimmick also gave Sherrie the chance to play the face for a change. To the observant observer however after the hair throwing and choking which Tara never did Catwoman would then resort back to Princess Tara's staple moves when staging a comeback which gave away the gimmick.

The golden blonde Princess Tara was featured in an article in Playboy magazine during her career and was a popular identity on the local circuit. The name Princess Tara was actually coined from Melbourne boxing doyen HOWARD LEIGH. Pauline was the secretary of the Victorian branch of the Australian Boxing Federation. Pauline also had a variety of work away from the ring including printing and a  job as a security officer. A noticeable feature in Tara's later matches if you pay attention is that Tara never takes a back bump wherever possible.

Tara in real life was involved in a serious car accident that left her with a bad back.  Tara decided to continue her wrestling career but compensated by changing her falls wherever possible to compensate for her back problem. A favorite move of Tara's was a stomping headlock to get the audience going. Tara wrestled women's matches, rumbles and mixed tag matches during her career. The legendary Mario Milano was a favorite mixed tag partner. In 1992 "The Fist" stated that Pauline that portrayed Princess Tara was the only female boxing referee and judge in Australia.

Pixie Von Schneider / sheila fox

Pixie Von Schneider wrestled on the Australian scene mainly as a heel during the 1980's. She was the then partner of wrestler Kurt Von Schneider and managed wrestlers also.

Sheila Fox was a gimmick name used by Pixie on the USA wrestling scene for Wild Women of Wrestling. In the promotion Pixie was pitted against Lisa (Ivory from WWE) for the championship. In the United States a DVD boxed set is presently available in stores with a few of Pixie's matches whilst she was there.
