BIOGRAPHY: Velvet McIntyre appeared on both WrestleMania II vs. The Fabulous Moolah and the 1987 Survivor Series for the WWF. In the Wrestlermania2
match up Velvet appears to take an early advantage on Moolah and goes full pelt on
the then champion Moolah. The match is a very short one with Moolah appearing to only do a few moves to gain the victory. As it was Velvet's wrestling suit decided to break a strap which ended in a quick decision to finish the match. You can see Velvet clutching the top half of it whilst leaving the ring.
In the Survivor Series 1987 Velvet got an upset pin on the then champion Sherri Martel. Velvet then was necked over the top rope whilst attempting a shoulder sitting victory roll. McIntyre exchanged
and held the WWF Women's world title for six days beating the Fabulous Moolah in 1986 during a tour of Australia. Velvet also held the WWF women's tag team title with fellow Canadian Desiree Peterson, beating Joyce Grable & Wendi Richter for the title in 1983. Velvet will probably
be best remembered as the "barefoot" wrestler from Canada. After the WWF
abandoned the women's division Velvet wrestled in LPWA.

Height: 5ft 9" Weight: 165lbs Debut: January 1983 having her first match in Canada against Velvet McIntyre who was to go on to become her tag partner. Hometown: Calgary, Alberta Canada.
Desiree started her wrestling career in Canada wrestling who was to become her tag team partner Velvet McIntyre. Desiree wrestled briefly in Canada before venturing to Japan and the AJW promotion that at the time billed their top Japanese stars against women from the United States, Canada and Mexico. Desiree was successful in the United States, her WWF Ladies Tag Team Championship run with Velvet McIntyre signifying her success. In the "Wrestling Heroes and Villains" magazine in 1985 published by Universal magazines Desiree was billed as a beautiful star with all the moves to make it to the top. One of her memorable moments in the WWF was a classic match-up against Sherri Martel where Desiree was thrown around the ring and into the commentary table virtually on top of Gene Okerlund. Gene who looked none impressed promptly moved backwards to watch Desiree fall to the floor.
